Welcome to Mike D’s blog. I am a Principal Systems Engineer at VMware. I’ve worked for VMware for the since 2002. Over that time I’ve worked with thousands of customers to help them go virtual and run their companies more effeciently. These days I wear a lot of hats. You’ll see me around the web a lot in articles and on blogs. You’ll also find me talking with customers nearly every day about topics ranging from licensing and support in a virtual machine to cloud computing to industry standards and just about everything in between.

The purpose of this blog is to share my thoughts and experiences as I work in the ever changing field of virtualization. You’ll find I’m very passionate about nearly everything. If I come across strongly just know that it’s because I’m excited. I really enjoy having open conversations on this blog so please comment freely and openly. Just make sure you clearly state if you work for a company that might have influence over your ideas.

In my spare time (yeah, right) I enjoy spending time with my loving wife and our two dogs. I’m also an avid aviator and fly nearly every weekend. Just look up and you’ll see a small yellow plane doing loops and rolls and flying along upside down. Flying is total freedom.
