Eric Siebert over at IT Knoweldge Exchange posted an open letter about things VMware should concentrate on it 2009. I for one know that VMware is always listening to and soliciting feedback from its customer base. Just look at how active the VMware communities, VMware User Groups, and other events around the globe are. Still, if you have suggestions that you’d like to share with the company then head over to the post and put your comment in. Don’t feel like registering to post comments on IT Knowledge Exchange then you can just drop your comment in this post and I’ll make sure it gets to the right parties inside of VMware.

Thanks for everyone’s continued support of the company. It’s the community that drives VMware products forward and brings the features to market that users want.

Couldn’t disagree more on the VCP. At least this way we don’t have the typical braindump paper certs floating around degrading the certification to the value of an mcse since anyone can go download the “knowledge and experience” to memorize for the test. It is unfortunate for those that somehow have the knowledge of an enterprise environment infrastructure without the 3k for the class, but I’d rather my cert mean something.

I really do agree with you there. I like not having paper certs. Of course just going to the class also doesn't give you the experience you need. It would be nice to have an experience requirement. Of course that's what the Enterprise Administration exam and VCDX are doing – adding a level of more professional people. I assume that one day we'll get to something like the Cisco or RedHat certs. Lower level “paper” certs, mid-tier experience certs, and higher level lab based certs.
